Carson Clark Photo
Nature Photographer & Author

Welcome to my website!

I am a seventh grade student at Loudoun Country Day School in Leesburg, Virginia. I am also a nature photographer who loves to explore nature just as much as I love to photograph it. I am also a Boy Scout and competitive horse rider. I love to play basketball and lacrosse, too!

I have been photographing nature since I was six years old.  My dad is a professional nature photographer and my mom is President for Defenders of Wildlife. I love to go with them to explore and photograph our wonderful world of nature. My most favorite places to photograph include Yellowstone National Park, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland, and anywhere in West Virginia. I also like to photograph at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve near my home in Leesburg, Virginia.

My very first camera was a Nikon Coolpix digital camera. As I got more interested in nature photography, my mom and dad got me a Nikon D50 and then a Nikon D80 and then a D90.

I now use a The Nikon D3s, D800 and D4. I'm also using the really cool Nikon Coolpix P510 compatct camera. I also love my Nikkor 70-300 VR lens and I also get to use my dad’s big lenses and other camera equipment, too. My favorite camera bag is from Lowepro and my tripod is a model from Manfrotto.

Be sure to check out my interview on West Virginia Public Radio, my You Tube  interview with Lowepro and my recent interviews with the Nature's Best Photography Magazine, Washington PostLoudoun Times Mirror, and Nature Photographers .Net.

Nothing planned at this time. Too much homework to do and jumps to jump with my horse!

I hope you enjoy exploring my website.  Be sure to visit my gallery of photographs and my book page, which tells you how I spent two years with my dad photographing for our two books, The Adventures of Buddy the Beaver: Buddy Explores the Pond and The Adventures of Buddy the Beaver: Mystery of the Missing Friends

Thanks for visiting and be sure to come back to learn what else I’ve been doing.
